Please, if you have a bear encounter, DO NOT CALL THE POLICE AS THEY WILL KILL THE BEAR, call the Bear League Emergency Line at 530-525-7297. Please be bear safe. We in Tahoe live in bear country. Please lock your cars, your homes and do not leave food out.  Store your trash in bear proof containers and if you happen to encounter a bear please stand up tall and make a ton of noise. It will be scared and run back to the forest
